Konoba Brajda
A laid table with plates and glasses of wine in a konoba at night

Fažana · 300 m from the harbour

Fish from the morning boat. A table under the vine.

A family konoba since 1994. Whatever the fishermen bring in at dawn is on the board by evening — and on your plate.

On the board today

Ask for it grilled, or slow-baked under the peka.

Grilled fish with vegetables on a dark plate

We write the board every morning when the boat comes in. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

Menu

A short menu, the same every day — except the fish.

We make the pasta ourselves, the olive oil is from Vodnjan, and the teran comes from a cellar two villages over.

To start

  • Istrian prosciutto, sheep’s cheese

  • octopus carpaccio

  • Istrian corn and bean soup

Pasta

  • hand-rolled fuži, game stew

  • hand-rolled pasta, langoustines

  • fuži, black Istrian truffle

Mains

  • catch of the day, grilled — per kg, see the board

  • grilled squid, chard and potato

  • lamb under the peka, for 2 — order a day ahead

To finish

  • little doughnuts, carob brandy

  • crisp fried pastry ribbons

Prices include VAT. Ask your waiter about allergens.

About us

Three generations, one vine.

A brajda is what Istrians call a pergola — a vine trained over the courtyard. Ours was planted before us; we just put the tables underneath.

Mum cooks, Dad runs the grill, and their son brings you your plate. We’re not a restaurant with a long menu; we cook what’s good today.

Christenings, birthdays, company dinners

We close the courtyard for groups of up to 40. Send us the date and numbers — we’ll put the menu together with you.
